Calcimed D3 500 mg / 1000 I.E. Direct Granules is a calcium-vitamin D3 supplement used for the prevention and treatment of combined calcium and vitamin D deficiency in older people and as an additional calcium and vitamin D supplementation for patients with osteoporosis at risk of combined vitamin D and calcium deficiency. This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to calcium, vitamin D3, or any of the other ingredients listed. It is also contraindicated in certain conditions such as high blood calcium levels, increased calcium excretion in urine, overactive parathyroid glands, bone marrow cancer, bone metastasis, prolonged limb immobilization accompanied by high blood calcium levels and/or increased calcium excretion in urine, kidney stones, kidney calcium deposits, vitamin D overdose, and severe kidney problems. Precautions should be taken for patients with heart problems, kidney problems, pseudohypoparathyroidism, sarcoidosis, limited mobility and osteoporosis, as well as individuals taking certain medications like digitalis glycosides, thiazide diuretics, certain antibiotics, riociguat, sodium fluoride, bisphosphonates, and others, as interactions may occur. It is recommended to avoid consuming foods high in oxalic and phytic acid before and after taking this medication, as they can reduce calcium absorption. This medication is not recommended during pregnancy, and the daily dosage of calcium should not exceed 1500 mg and vitamin D3 should not exceed 4000 I.U. during pregnancy. Calcimed D3 500 mg / 1000 I.E. Direct can be used during breastfeeding if there is a vitamin D deficiency, but it is important to consult a doctor if the child is already taking vitamin D supplements. The medication does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. It contains aspartame, sorbitol, isomalt, sucrose, and sodium, which may be harmful for individuals with certain conditions. The recommended dosage for adults and older people is 1 sachet per day. The granules should be placed directly on the tongue and dissolve in the mouth before swallowing. The duration of treatment should be determined by the doctor. In case of overdose or missed dose, medical attention should be sought, and if discontinuing the medication is desired, a doctor's consultation is necessary.
